Team Engineering Knows a lot About Spray Foam Insulation
By Brian Hansen, Project Manager
Installing spray-foam insulation in your attic is a great way to save energy and cut down on heating bills. The technology is great, but the installation process can sometimes get complicated. Our Team of Professional Engineers have consulted various clients in NH, MA and VT on multiple projects involving spray foam installation. Just recently, we have supervised the installation of spray foam at a nearby university, a local library and numerous residential properties.
One of those projects related to a strong odor that appeared after a residential spray foam installation. Our role in the project was to identify and eradicate the odor. To do this, we successfully identified multiple factors that converged to create the odor, meanwhile revealing HVAC issues that were spreading the odor. The value Team Engineering added was not only the engineering know-how but the skills necessary to be fair and engaging with the contractor who installed (and subsequently removed some of) the spray foam. We managed the technical and delicate interpersonal parts of the project which avoided confrontation and possible litigation. The result was a very happy homeowner and a healthy home.
