The Veil House modernizes a 1920’s neo-Georgian home into this contemporary masterpiece. The complete two-story, single-family renovation is the creation of Studio J. Jih.
With several additions added to the rear of the property, the existing circulation was confusing and did not fit this family’s needs. The team at Studio J. Jih was able to envision a completely new floor plan including the client’s taste for luxurious finishes. The design is a true testament to form and function.
Due to the age of the building, a significant amount of the structure had to be upgraded and many new elements designed. This included reinforcements to existing wood members and new concrete foundations. New steel beams were used to create an open concept layout with minimal interior posting. The large amount of glass at the rear of the property required custom steel moment frames.
