Project Description

This residential renovation stems from the imagination of Daher Interior Designs. The Boston design-firm was asked by the homeowners to bring modern aesthetics and amenities into its existing footprint. This included reconfiguring the floor plan layout, finishing the basement and attic spaces, and selecting new furnishings to match. Structural design was needed to create an open-concept great room, install glazing fixtures, relocating load bearing walls, new dormers, removing structural columns, and expanding the rear lake-side deck. A combination of conventional and engineered wood, as well as steel materials, were used to modify the structure. Concrete foundations were supplemented to accommodate the redistributed load paths. The contractor, Meridian Construction, was amazing to work with. With their attention to detail and open lines of communication, this project was always aligned for, and is considered, a success!
