WORKER BEE FUND: KEVIN’S NEW ALUMINUM RAMP
By Brian Ki, P.E.
This past month, I was grateful to assist the Worker Bee Fund in helping Kevin, an Air National Guard Veteran. Kevin previously experienced a stroke and lost use of his left side. Although he doesn’t complain about the wheelchair he has to use, he needs a ramp to get in and out of his home. His current ramp was tacked on to the front concrete stoops, slightly narrow, a little steep, and lacked guardrails. A new ramp would significantly improve his quality of living.
The Worker Bee Fund is a 501c3 charity that volunteers their time in helping disabled vets improve their homes. This includes projects such as ramps, kitchen remodels, roof improvements, and creating accessible bathrooms. Through their coordination of gathering donations, materials, and volunteers, we were able to assist in building Kevin a new aluminum ramp.
Check out the photos before, during, and after construction! We hope Kevin enjoys his new ramp and send our congratulations to the Worker Bee Fund for another successful project!
