Roof Pitch

When it comes to framing a roof with an angle, contractors often refer to the angle or slope as the “roof pitch.” In simplicity, the roof pitch is just the vertical rise over the horizontal run. Because we live in the United States, the pitch is often rationalized to a ratio of so many measuring units of rise to each 12 measuring units of run. 12 being an easy value to convert from inches to feet.
