Northpoint Construction Management: Sweeney Metal Fabricators

Northpoint Construction Management and Team Engineering once again collaborated on the building design for an addition to the Sweeney Metal Fabricators in Nashua, NH. While Northpoint Construction gets majority of the credit in the overall building’s design, we were asked to help with engineering elements to the structure.

The main portion of the addition was designed as a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) by Star Building Systems. As typical with these types of designs, we were brought in to design the foundation for the steel framing of the PEMB. Anchor bolt embedment and high capacity tension loads for the steel framing were critical to our design. In addition to the foundation, there were also structural modifications to the roof as well as new openings that we provided.
