Building on Hope
By Dan Martel, P.E.
Building on Hope is a community organization of volunteers who work with builders, architects and designers to provide physical improvements to facilities associated with non-profit service groups.
This May 2020, during this year’s “build week”, hundreds of volunteers will converge on the Nashua Police Athletic League on Ash Street and completely overhaul the inside and outside of the building. For more than a year, dozens of design professionals, lead once again by Warrenstreet Architects, have volunteered their time and talents to prepare renovation plans. Team Engineering is proud to be volunteering our structural engineering services, including design of the new exterior elevator shaft, a new front entry deck, and various interior structural modifications to support the new layout.
The project relies on donations, including contractors volunteering their talent during build week and suppliers donating building materials. There is still time to contribute, check out the website to learn more and get involved!
